麻萨诸塞州（Massachusetts）的剑桥市（Cambridge）有6.5平方英里，居住10万多人，共有5个不同的青年中心。
人力服务计划部（Department of Human Service Programs）是剑桥市48个政府部门之一，具体负责青年中心管理和建设。人力服务计划部主要为孩子发展、各部门协调、部门培训、健康联盟、图书馆、警察局、儿童委员会提供服务。其中有叫青年计划（the Cambridge Youth programs）(CYP’S)的是人力服务计划部的工作业务之一。
青年计划（CYP’S ）存在15年了，服务9?19岁的青少年，目的是年轻人的生活更丰富多彩，包括社会生活、娱乐生活、技能发展等，促使领导能力形成。目前青年计划服务大约1000个年轻人，参加位于剑桥市5个不同青年中心。
CYP’S为青年中心装备了教室、会议室、停车场等。青年计划CYP’S 发展了服务会员的两个不同项目模式一个是集中服务9-13岁会员的（the Leadership Program），另一个服务14-19岁会员（Teen Evening program），包括职业补助、家庭作业帮助、读写计划、生活技能、演讲、社区服务、预防毒品和酗酒、娱乐活动、运动社团、旅行和特殊服务等。
有州儿童援助服务办公室的许可，得到财务帮助。

Program Summaries
Community Meeting- Youth Center members are given the opportunity to share stories, ask Youth Center questions, provide entertainment, etc. During this time staff can discuss with the members upcoming events, Youth Center issues, and also the Gately Youth Center Member of the Month Award is given out in the meeting.

Athletic Activities- This program helps to expose youth to a variety of different sports. Members participate in flag football, kick ball, basketball, floor hockey, physical fitness, volleyball, ultimate Frisbee, mat ball, etc.

Boys Group- In the Boys Group, young men start to analyze issues relevant to their lives. This session the Boys Group is focusing on government, public speaking, and business skills such as money management, marketing, responsibility, etc.
男孩一族??在这群男孩中间，年轻人分析自身相关行为。男孩一族会议集中在政府，公众演讲，商业技巧货币运作、市场管理、责任等。
Girls Group-In the Girls Group, young women start to analyze the issues that affect the lives of youth today. This session the Girls Group is focusing on poetry and creative writing, homophobia, and proper nutrition.
女孩一族??在这群女孩中间，年轻人分析自身相关行为。会议集中在写诗、创造性写作，反对同性恋、营养保健等。
Basketball Basics- Members will learn the basic skills and drills of basketball and participate in an inter-center league. Also, the members will learn about concepts such as sportspersonship, teamwork, dedication, and effort.

Adobe Photoshop- Members will learn how to utilize the Adobe Photoshop computer graphics program. The members will be able to create their own bookmarks, posters, CD covers, magazine covers, etc. using this software.

Community Service-Learning- Members will learn to analyze and evaluate the effectiveness of the communities in which they live. Members will serve their communities and participate in fun experiential education activities to help them to reflect on their service work.

W.A.V.E.- (Written and Verbal Expression) This program is run by City-Year volunteers. Members will participate in a current events journaling project to increase literacy. Also, the members will participate in community service projects that relate to the topics that they are discussing in W.A.V.E.

Arts and Crafts- Arts and Crafts is an opportunity for members to creatively express themselves through art. Some of this sessions projects include: fuse beads, fantastic fans, painting, beading, diversity projects, etc.

Capoiera- Capoiera is a Brazilian art form that combines dance and martial arts. Members will gain better reflexes, flexibility, and coordination.

Understanding 3-D Drawing- Members will learn the basics of drawing 3 dimensional figures and scenes. Through shading, perspective, gesture drawings, and transformation, the members will work towards an end project of creating their own portfolio that demonstrates all that they have learned over the course of the session.

Game Room Activities- Members will participate in game room tournaments. These tournaments with center around board games, flash cards, the soccer table, and the pool table.

The Gately Youth Center offers an evening program for teens, ages fourteen through nineteen. The fee for the program is $20 per year. The center offers educational and recreational workshops. Some workshops that we offered during the past year include:

大学预备课程College Preparation workshops, this past spring the Gately teamed up with the Black College Tours to give insight to our young adults regarding College information. We also offered Finance workshops dealing with money management.提供大学信息，财务课程

Some of our recreational workshops include Basketball skills and weight training. We also participated in a Program associated with the Boston Celtic's Paul Pierce.
